Is This Weird?

OK I have a weird obsession with keeping my pantry stocked to the brim! I don't just want to have enough for meals or a week but I want it full to the brim with things I like or use alot!

There are certain items that I must have at all times. Not just a few of these items, but huge stacks of them! Diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, wet wipes, toothpaste, milk, and bread!

The rub for me is that once I manage to get it stocked up it seems as if something happens and my funds get low so I use what I have on hand and then my stock pile diminishes! Talk about stress around here folks!

I even joined a coupon type club called the grocery game. It helps me keep track of what the best sales are so that I can stockpile when the prices are rock bottom! On their website they have message boards. One of my favorite things to look at on the message boards is pictures people post of their pantry's after they have stocked them!I knew that my obsession had reached a new level when I had spent several hours admiring others pantries and thinking of ways to get mine up to par. I had to crack up when one woman commented that this is like porn to her. Yep, pantry porn! Yeah! I have found my people at last! The pantry porn worked for me too. Finally something that gets me excited!

Most people already know this about me, but I love to buy scratchers! I buy $1.00 scratchers and sometimes when I am living large and dangerously I will even buy $2.00 ones!
Tony hardly ever buys a scratcher. They irritate him. He thinks they are a waste of money! However sometimes when he is with me he will buy a scratcher. he doesn't go cheap, he goes big! Yep, $5.oo scratchers and once even a $10.00 one! Well Saturday I went into circle K to buy my soda and a $1.00 scratcher and Omar (employee) talked me into going big and I bought a $5.00 scratcher! Yikes! BUT.....I won! And I won Big!!! $100.00! WoooHooo!
So, do I buy a outfit for myself? Umm Nope! Do I use it to go to the movies and dinner with my husband? Of course not! What do I do? I keep it on the down low Don't say a word to anyone and sneak off to Sam's club! Yep! I spent all of it! I bought paper towels, toilet paper, milk, bread, and diapers! Ahhh....all is right with my world once again!

Is this weird?

****Disclaimer**** Looks like several people think this is my pantry. Mine is not as spectacular! This is just some pantry porn I found! Don't you love looking at it? I want it too!

I can understand stocking up on food, but on Scotch Brite pads and household items? When are you ever going to use all of those! I thinking having such a full pantry would drive me crazy, since I tend to be a bit of a minimalist and only keep a small back stock of things I like. Except the essentials. I have more Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Garlic, and Mojo than I know what to do with!

$100 is awesome! There's a guy that comes into my work and buys $5-$10 scratchers and always wins a minimum of $50. The other day he got two $500 winners! Can you imagine winning that big!?!

Um, yeah, it's weird! But the prophet loves you! As soon as disaster hits Arizona, people will be lining up at your door, because not only will you have wheat and beans, but you can hook them up with soda, cake, and wipies! Ahh, wipies!

awesome!~ totally not wierd. when it's feast or famine i'd rather be stocked up. and blowing it on a new outfit or dinner out is not the way to Maximize the money! i feel awesome when i have an extra case of diapers and 2 spare cases of wipes. OH and kid shampoo! you can't have enough of that in the stockpile. yeah i stock up too. at first i was thinking those were your pantry! i was going to have to BOW DOWN TO THE QUEEN! oH and toilet paper, and paper towels. i can't stock up enough. Oh and paper plates. YES! i feel rad if i have extras around of that too.

maybe that is why i have so much clutter in my life,I'm stocking up. is that a bad thing?

UM NO IT ISN'T! especially when my hubby lost his Job and i had enough crap on hand of all the basics for MONTHS! diapers, wipes, clothes, shampoo. yes. i believe that food storage and year supply are to benefit us in the lean times more than natural disasters.

AHH, how nice. I am a stock piler, by nature. I could probably survive a long time just with the pantry, let alone the extra freezer. I love to buy when prices are low and have extra for a "rainy" day. I guess that is why I run to several stores each week "shopping the ads". Are those really your pantries?? Love it! I love how everything is faced the same way and you can clearly see what you have. NICE!

Pantry porn! Hehe, that is funny. At least you know if there is any kind of emergency, you're set. Unless of course, we have no power, you have no milk or butter, and you can't cook Mac N Cheese. Oh, but that wasn't your pantry. All kidding aside. If I could afford to, I would stack mine bigger too.

I am in panty envy. I don't have a pantry in this house. (unless the 4 foot tall cabinet next to my fridge is really called a pantry like they claimed in the brochure when we bought the house...) That is a MUST for my next home. A real pantry. Stocking up is incredible. If I had been more prepared these last several months wouldn't have been so bad. I have to pray that we have enough in our budget to cover diapers! If I had $100 right now, that is exactly where it would go!

Ok, I'm cracking up over Kendra's typo above..("panty envy") I'm thinking, "why is Kendra envious of your panties??? Ohhh, she meant pantry. That is a very funny typo. It's late, so it's even more of a crack up!! I am also a pantry stocker. Dave always tells me I should work at a store, cuz I always have extra stock of stuff on hand, and we hardly ever run out of anything. It is a good feeling!! (Too funny, I'm going to have to give Kendra a hard time about that one!!!)

I LOVE a house fully stocked up! I love having so much stuff that I wouldn't have to shop for a month! I am going to have Brent buy me a freezer for Christmas just so I can fill it full of food! I can hardly wait!

You are too funny! Pantry Porn and spending $100 on diapers, etc. But it is such a good feeling to know you have the necessities for your family.

My sister-in-law refers to flushing her money down the toilet when she buys bathroom products, since that's where it all goes.
