52 Blessings Project~ Week 22

This week I am grateful for~
Our Soldiers, Their Families, and Our Freedom!

This past Monday, Memorial Day, I spent some time reading Ambers blog and saw this photo of a soldier and child. It got my wheels turning, as I reflected on my brother in laws two tours of duty in Iraq, the struggles his family had to endure, and the price of freedom that has been paid and will be paid.
Can you imagine if I lived in another country? Just last week, I was angry with Tony, and called him a nasty name. (Don't worry my friends, I won't reveal what it was)Not too classy I know, and something I am working on(I know, I know, I have alot I am working on, but hey-I AM working on it!)Anyhow what if I lived somewhere like the middle east? I think with my temper, and my mouth I probably would be stoned to death before the sun set on my first night there. I live in a country where I can exercise my free agency. The good, the bad and the ugly. I am blessed to live in a country that is free, and I owe it to the ones that have sacrificed of themselves to give that right to me! For that I am truly grateful!
So this is for all the soldiers past and present and their families who support them~
THANK YOU~THANK YOU~THANK YOU!!!!

What a beautiful tribute to the soldiers! We all need a daily reminder on how blessed we are!

Thank you for remembering the soldiers of the past as well as the present. My Grandfather was killed in the Korean War. I know that his death affected my mother and her family forever. I massaged a man last week, who had also fought in the Korean War. My Grandfather and him were both from Germany. This man, who was not even a citizen at the time, was drafted and told he would be serving a counrty that was not even his own yet. He became a citizen during the war. Our service men need to be remembered. Thank you again.

I LOVE this photo and I am glad it had an impact on you as well. I found it a couple of years ago when I was doing a search for Memorial Day and keep it handy whenever I need a reminder of what it is all about ....

I heard a vet on the radio on Memorial Day. He said they (the Veterans) want us to go out and have a good time that weekend -- just remember them the rest of the year. Thanks for your tribute!
