Too Late??

I am frustrated beyond belief with my Dr. It is a cattle call every time and I am so sick and tired of waiting one to two hours every time. And then they only have a few minutes to give you. I am irritable and don't have the patience for it.

So after a really frustrating call with them I thought I'd just stop going altogether. Be done with it. Just show up for delivery but Tony thinks this is a bad idea. I should just suck it up and keep going to them.

Well they won't give me the medicine I need until they see me but they won't have a opening for two weeks. They tell me I need to get in ASAP but then I am told two weeks is the absolute earliest I can be seen by the front desk.

So to save my sanity cause I am over the edge I am thinking I want to change OB's. Can't be any worse right?

Is it too late to change Dr.'s in the seventh month of pregnancy? Do ya think I can go without anymore care until I deliver?

I am so done and don't want to be bothered anymore. But I keep hoping maybe I can find a Dr like the kind I had in Utah and Colorado.

Does it even really matter?

So give me some advice here. I am moody and can't think straight.

On another note here..Tony had a luncheon he had to go to for Lowe's up in the mountains. They donated a ton of money and labor for the MDA camp and they were having a MVP lunch to thank them. I decided to go with him. Stay the night and have a little time away from the little ones.

It was delightful and we had a great time with just the two of us. But on the way home I was so, so sick. Puking and miserable. Tony was teasing me a little that I wasn't smiling any more. That is until we got to the gas station. And this Tahoe pulls up next to us. And it was like watching one of those circus cars. Their doors opened and it was LOADED. Coolers, pillows, sleeping bags, luggage. And then the people started piling out. So many people. And we were saying how funny that they could fit THAT many people and all that crap in the car when they then pulled THIS out......

Cause who doesn't bring their goats on vacation? Funny. His name is Cash. Cause the family LOVES Johnny Cash! Oh yeah I can see how they do!

love that they pulled a goat out of their car.

you can certainly change docs, it's not too late. i did it, it sucks but if your that unhappy do it. you need to feel comfortable and happy with your doc. i personally don't think you should miss any appointments to risky.

You can always choose a new doc but do not go without care. Amanda is right it is to risky.

I changed doctors in my 5th month and it was the best decision I ever made. Maybe look into a high risk doc if you do not already have one and choose a practice that only has 1 or 2 docs. This will sometimes give you a more personnel relationship.

I can not stand just being a number and that is why I changed. I never saw the same doctor and had to repeat my story over and over because no one knew me. This is frustrating.

Make the best of the time you have left being pregnant with a doc that cares. You will feel better. Love you and wish I could help more.

I agree with the two wise young ladies before me. Of course, you want to feel comfortable with someone who spends so much time down there. Change doctors, but don't skip the appointments. Especially with your placental abruption scare. Hang in there, you're almost there!

Love the goat!

first off, WHO THE HELL DO YOU SEE? they suck! seriously! and call and ask for the office manager. seriously prenatal care , especially when you are higher risk. and need meds comes before everyone else. go to the head biotch there, and they better get you in.
or switch. i had to change late in a pregnancy once. it kinda sucked. but my insurance quit dealing with the only hospital my ob delivered at, at the time. LAME. i'll give you my OB's name love him. you have to have prenatal care with your history, but you don't have to take that office's crap. just my 2 cents.

Just do NOT stop going! Too many probs to stop now.
Change. And immediately. You don't want a doc you don't have a good relationship helping you in labor. What happens if there is a problem in labor? You wouldn't trust your MD to make the best decision.

I agree with all my sistahs! You need to contine seeing a doctor. You need to find someone you trust. Ask around.. Find out who your friends have used. It will be worth it! Don't stop seeing the doctor though. Love ya...

Laurie... You need to either call and tell them you want the DR to call you back personally and let you know if he's going to give you the meds or make you wait two weeks (you may be surprised how quickly he prescribes or gets you into the office)...

OR call another OB and let them know the situation and ask if they can take you on immediately. I have the best (LDS) OB everrrrr and have been using him for the past 8 yrs. He is super smart and so, so kind and caring.

I've actually quit going to Drs that I LOVE because I couldn't get past their stupid office staff. It's awful but a reality. Don't go without the care though, especially being high risk. (I do understand WANTING to give up though!) I'm sure you could get several names of great OB's in the area...mine is Rick Wilson-offices in Mesa, Ahwatukee and he's taken care of a couple of super high risk pregnancies with me. (and a few friends too) LOVE. HIM.

I can always count on you to find the funny situations, you must be a magnet for people like the goat people. Too funny! Switch Dr. today!
